Addio Lenny!
Un anno dopo il rilascio di Debian 6.0, alias "Squeeze", e quasi tre
anni dopo il rilascio di Debian GNU/Linux 5.0, alias "Lenny", [15]è
finito il supporto per la sicurezza della vecchia distribuzione. Il
progetto Debian è orgoglioso di essere riuscito a sostenere per un così
lungo periodo di tempo la propria vecchia distribuzione, continuando
addirittura per un anno intero dopo che era stata rilasciata la nuova
versione.

Debian GNU/Hurd sta arrivando
Samuel Thibault ha spedito alcune [16]pillole dai responsabili del port
di GNU/Hurd che riferiscono circa i progressi recenti da parte del
gruppo. Oltre ad altre interessanti notizie, Samuel ha confermato che
Debian GNU/Hurd sarà probabilmente disponibile sotto forma di anteprima
tecnologica per il rilascio di "Wheezy": la percentuale dei pacchetti

DPL e lavoro legale

dpkg pronto per multiarch
Cyril Brulebois ha riportato sul suo blog che "grazie al duro lavoro
degli sviluppatori di dpkg e di molte (generazioni di) sviluppatori",

GPL in Debian: uno studio
Sam Varghese ha scritto un articolo [22]analizzando uno studio di John
Sullivan su come viene usata la licenza GNU General Public Licence
(GPL) nel progetto Debian. John, direttore esecutivo presso la Free
Software Foundation, nel corso del suo intervento intitolato "Il
copyleft è stato incastrato?" al FOSDEM 2012 ha detto che il 93 per
cento dei pacchetti in Debian "Squeeze" sono rilasciati con una licenza
della famiglia delle licenze GPL (comprese la GPL, la Affero GPL e
LGPL), mostrando un costante e significativo aumento rispetto ai
precedenti rilasci. I numeri mostrati nell'intervento sono stati
calcolati usando uno strumento Debian esistente, ma Russ Allbery ha
fatto notare che [23]non è stato progettato per questo scopo perciò i
numeri attuali sono solo preliminari.

grafica del prossimo rilascio per il sistema operativo universale,

Holger Levsen ha scritto una [26]relazione dallo sprint del gruppo
video di DebConf tenutosi nello scorso novembre a Parigi, in Francia.
